What an amazing Day of Caring today! 1,100 volunteers through out central Massachusetts participated in 90 projects at over 60 local nonprofit agencies! Once again United Way succeeded in bringing the community together to improve the conditions for everyone who lives and works here.
Today the beautiful fall sunshine was a little bit brighter. Spirits were shining as I visited volunteers lending their time and muscles at the YWCA, AIDS Project Worcester and Plumley Village. In turn, the staff at these agencies were greatful to have the extra help. Today was truly a win-win!
Let us know what volunteering means to you, on Day of Caring or any other day. Please post your feed back in the comments area.

Giving Back, Voluntering is not an option but a requirement in life. I first volunteered with United way 25 years ago when Linda Cavioli was running the campaign. She was and is an inspiration to me and my family
I remain humbled by the strong demonstration of support for our Central Massachusetts community - college students, business owners, laborers, community leaders, nonprofit program participants - more than 1,200 people all uniting to make a difference and improve lives. That collective power and passion continue to make central Massachusetts a great place to live, to work, and to raise a family!
The staff of the Colleges of Worcester Consortium really enjoyed volunteering at the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. Check out our photo slideshow!

Loved volunteering and appreciate all the hard work that goes into this event. Please consider recycling bottles/cans and paper at lunch next year. It felt good to contribute to our community but not our landfill!
