As has been the tradition for many years, the Community Services Program at United Way of Central Massachusetts is proud to bring you the 2009 Holiday Wish List as a way for you to help people in need, right here in central Massachusetts.The Holiday Wish List offers a wide range of opportunities for businesses and individuals to support non-profit organizations that help children and families in our community.The list offers many opportunities for you to help: through donating gifts, volunteering at a holiday party, or creating food baskets for families. I'm looking forward to choosing a volunteer opportunity to do with my Marketing Department co-workers this year! Last year we went to the YWCA's Young Parent's Program; we made and wrapped some holiday snacks with the girls. They loved being able to make a gift for someone special in their lives. It was a fun way for us to spend a couple of hours together...away from our computers!
Thank you for sending me United Way’s Holiday Wish list. The list prompted my staff and I to replace our usual holiday Yankee Swap with a collection of toiletry items for the Veterans shelter on Grove Street. It was a big hit for us, and I’m sure appreciated by the shelter. So thank you for serving as the catalyst for this new idea – perhaps it will become a holiday tradition for us!
